Laura lives and works in London making films and visual arts since 2009. In 2006 and 2007 she was awarded a grant from BNP Paribas in recognition to her career as an artist and she has also been sponsored by: La Colección Jumex, Big Sky Grant and UNAM among others. Her documentary HERMANOS won the audience award at SAFF 2018 and was acquired by Amazon Prime Video. Her Documentary NON WESTERN premiered at Vision du Réel 2020 and was selected for ‘Best of Fests’ at IDFA. MEXICAN DREAM her latest film, premiered at HOT DOCS 2024 and won BEST FILM at DocsBarcelona 2024.

 

Laura's passion has always revolved around working with non-actors, as she believes there is nothing more powerful than reality itself. She is deeply intrigued by human behavior and the motivations behind our choices. Additionally, she is passionate about addressing social issues and aims to portray them through a lens different from that of traditional journalism
